The Qld Legislative upgrade is a compulsory requirement for rental properties in Queensland.
As of December 31, 2021, all rental properties in Queensland must comply with the new smoke alarm requirements that are detailed in the Fire and Emergency Services Act.
How much will this cost?
Safe Home Services install and replace alarms for one simple flat fee of $185 (incl GST) per alarm.
Each property is different in its requirements, however in most cases you are required to replace the current alarms and add an alarm to each bedroom. This can be done all at once, or with Safe Home Services, you can add these alarms gradually, and spread the cost.
Don’t worry, you current alarms will be the last to be replaced, so you still get the best value from them.
You have until 2022 to complete the upgrade, so it is best to get started NOW to spread the cost over a longer period.
